Five rules, and why they exist.
Short enough that people actually read them. Shown when you register, and again before every conversation.

What this is
One hour, one stranger, once a week. A private conversation between two adults who know nothing about each other except a first name. That is the whole thing.
It is not dating. It is not networking. It is not therapy, counselling or crisis support. The person on the other end is an ordinary community member with no training and no obligation to carry your weight — and neither do you have to carry theirs.
The five rules
- 1Treat them like a guest in your home. You would not interrupt a guest, interrogate them, or make them uncomfortable to see what happens. Same here.
- 2No romance, no sexual talk, no flirting. Not subtly, not as a joke, not "just seeing where it goes". This is the fastest way to be removed permanently. If a conversation drifts there, say so plainly and change the subject; if it does not change, leave and report it.
- 3Nothing is recorded, screenshotted or shared. No recording, no screenshots, no posting clips or quotes, no telling the story with enough detail to identify the person. If you both agree on the call to record, that is your call to make together — otherwise, no.
- 4Nothing is being sold.No pitches, no MLM, no crypto, no coaching packages, no "I'd love to tell you about what I do". People come here to talk, not to be a lead.
- 5Show up, or cancel by Saturday noon. There is one other person waiting for you. Cancelling is completely fine and needs no reason. Silently not appearing is the one thing that genuinely hurts someone.
Also expected
- Personal details are yours to give. Nobody is owed your last name, your workplace, your address, your social media or your photo. Sharing contact details at the end is optional in both directions, and "no thanks" is a complete answer.
- You can leave at any time. No explanation owed. Leaving early is never held against you and never affects your rating.
- Hard topics are welcome; unloading is not. People talk about grief, illness, money and loneliness, and that is part of why this exists. But an hour with a stranger is not a substitute for support, and the other person is allowed to say "I don't think I can hold this one."
- Disagree gently. Politics, religion and identity will come up in a city like this. Curiosity is welcome. Trying to win is not.
- Assume good faith about language. Some members are speaking their second or third language. Slow down, don't correct, and don't switch to short sentences as if they were a child.
What gets you removed
Immediately and permanently:
- Sexual conduct, sexual talk, or persistent romantic pressure
- Harassment, slurs, threats, or intimidation
- Recording or sharing a conversation without clear agreement
- Attempting to identify, locate or contact someone who did not choose to share details
- Sales pitches or recruitment of any kind
- Lying about your age or identity at registration
After review: two no-shows, repeated reports of disrespectful behaviour, or a rating average that stays low across several conversations.
Decisions are made by a person, within 72 hours, and communicated by email. You may respond once. We do not tell anyone who reported them.
Reporting
Use the report option after a conversation, or reply to any email from us. Reports are read by a person within 24 hours. You will never be matched again with someone you have blocked or reported.
If you or the person you are talking to is in crisis
If someone tells you they are in danger during a conversation, you are not responsible for saving them. Stay kind, share the numbers above, end the call if you need to, and tell us afterwards so we can follow up.
A note on the ratings
After every conversation you rate it privately. Nobody — not your match, not you — ever sees a score. Ratings exist for one reason: so we can find the small number of people who make this unsafe and remove them.
There is no leaderboard, no status, and nothing to optimise. Rate honestly.
One question is different. You are also asked whether you would like to talk to that person again. If you both say yes, it becomes more likely that you are paired again some weeks later — more likely, not certain, and never at the cost of meeting new people in between. If only one of you says yes, nothing happens and neither of you ever learns the other's answer.
